Being an Equine Photographer and the mom of two young ladies that ride, I had to take pictures of both my girls during their recent riding lesson.
Julia got the chance to ride Benji on the lunge line and was thrilled! He is young and she is not quite ready to handle him alone yet. But she learned alot in that lesson.
They looked great together.

Hannah rode Molly. She didnt ride much this winter but you couldnt tell…she did really well! And of course…always that huge smile.

I drove out to the barn today to get some photos of the horses in the snow. The roads were still kind of messy this morning!

We went with the hope of seeing alot of Eagles. We only saw 2….and from a big distance! Oh well. The tour and museum were fun and it was beautiful weather.

When your mother is the photographer you can get your Senior pictures taken repeatedly! IN all your new outfits…..with different people….
at different times of year. Its fun!!

We have 3 great dogs!
Bogart is a brindle Dutch Shepard. We got him from the C.A.R.E. shelter in Springfield after he made is deput on the news! He looked so much like my first dog and in many ways is much like Ebony. Very smart and great with the kids. We joke that if he had thumbs he could let himself out! He also “talks”….too funny to hear.
Magic is a blue merle Australian Shepard. Magic is our shy girl. She is timid around strangers but is great with our family. Magic is obsessed with tennis balls.
Fritzi is a miniature Schnauzer. He came to us “Free to a good home” at the age of 17 weeks. He is about 5 1/2 months old now and has fit in nicely. He is still full of puppy energy and behaviors but learning quickly. It is my hope that Fritzi will be a therapy dog. I have begun with only basic training but he is a quick learner and eager to please.

One of my favorite equine models died this past weekend.
Hogan was a 16 hand Tennessee walker. He spent many years on the Tennessee Walker show circuit and had retired to be the personal horse of one of the staff members of H.E.A.R.T.s Astride.
When he could no longer be ridden we used him as a good will ambassador. He would stand quietly while kids groomed him. He was a very patient horse!
He will be greatly missed by many.
Below is my favorite picture taken of Hogan (far left) in the pasture at Germania stables. This was turned into a painting for framing.
Hogans final portrait taken In late October. Another photo turned into a painting.
